Self-esteem among tribal adolescents

Abstract
Healthy self-esteem is important to be successful and happy throughout one’s life. The aim of this study was to measure the self-esteem of tribal adolescentsin Devikulam, Idukki district. The size of the sample was 201 adolescents (Tribal N=101 and general N=100) selected by using simple random sampling method. The self-esteem scale of Immanuel Thomas and Sam Sandra Raj (1985) was used to collect the data. Data wasanalysed by using SPSS23. Study revealed that tribal adolescents had higher level of self-esteem. The self-esteem is lower among general girls and it is higher among tribal boys.
